Preparing for your Boudoir Experience
Your boudoir session is only a few days away! These are the days to prepare for your shoot. I've come up with some tips to ensure you are fully prepped and ready to shoot, so you can arrive at your boudoir experience stress-free!
in the days leading up to your shoot:
HYDRATE! I can not say this enough. Hydrated skin is healthy skin, and we love a healthy glow! Drink your water, girl.
Waxing: If you are planning on waxing, give a couple days for it to heal.
Make sure that your eyebrows are waxed/tweezed and ready to go
Don't forget your finger and toenails. Treat yourself to a mani/pedi or trim and polish them yourself.
STRETCH YOUR BODY: This one is so so important. You will spend time in positions that you likely do not spend time in on the day to day. Some stretches I recommend: Cat-Cow Yoga Pose (for the arches) and stretching out your hamstrings. Please take the time to do this, you won't regret it (but you might regret it if you don't ;) )
Please let me know if you have any body limitations that may limit posing, so I can accommodate you.
Clean your ring: If you wear a wedding ring, clean it in the days leading up to your shoot. This is something we often overlook, but we want your jewelry to be nice and shiny.
Avoid any spray tans if possible. Tan lines are tricky to work with in post-production.
the day before your shoot:
Shaving: Be sure to go slow and take your time to avoid razor burn/irritation. Exfoliate and moisturize for a smooth look.
Wash your hair: THIS is the day to wash your hair. Not the day of. Too clean of hair will not hold as well. Don't worry, our professional stylist has dry shampoo and texturizing spray on deck.
Skip the alcohol, it can wreak havoc on your skin, stealing vital nutrients and leaving it looking dehydrated and dull. We want the opposite effect. Drink your water!
SLEEP! Get a full night of your beauty rest so you can wake up ready to conquer.
the day of your shoot:
Arrive with a freshly washed and moisturized face. This will help ensure your makeup artist has a clean canvas to work with and have you looking your best!
Arrive with loose-fitting or no underwear/bra. You want to avoid tight bras and underwear to avoid having lines in your skin. These take a while to disappear and can draw attention away from you in your photos. Avoid wearing tight socks, jeans, or any other clothing that may leave lines in your skin. The best outfit to arrive in is your sweatpants and T-shirt!
Eat a healthy and light breakfast before your shoot. No one feels their most confident with a food baby, but you also want to be sure you are not starving throughout your shoot. Eat something that will keep you satiated, but not feeling bloated.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions. We want you to feel prepared and ready to go.
